چکیده

We report millimeter/submillimeter continuum and molecular line observations of the Galactic super star cluster RCW 38, obtained from Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array with a minimum angular resolution $0''.17\times0''.15$ ($\simeq289\,{\rm AU}\times255\,{\rm AU}$). The C$^{18}$O image reveal many massive condensations embedded within filamentary structures extending along northwest-southeast direction in center cluster. have sizes 0.01-0.02 pc, H$_2$ column densities $10^{23}$-$10^{24}$ cm$^{-2}$, masses 10-130 $M_\odot$. In addition, 233-GHz reveals two dense, small millimeter-sources radii 460 200 AU (Source A Source B). is most condensation, whereas no counterpart seen for B. B are estimated as 13 3 $M_\odot$ at optically-thin limit, respectively. emission shows velocity gradient 2 km s$^{-1}$ central 2000 A, which could be interpreted Keplerian rotation mass few or infall motion gas. Further, ALMA $^{12}$CO data that associated outflows exhibiting maximum velocities $\sim$30-70 s$^{-1}$. short dynamical timescales $<$1000 yr high outflow rates $\sim10^{-4}$-$10^{-3}$ yr$^{-1}$. These observational signatures suggest an early evolutionary phase formation

The Embedded Massive Star Forming Region RCW 38

RCW 38 is a uniquely young (<1 Myr), embedded (AV ∼ 10) stellar cluster surrounding a pair of early O stars (∼O5.5) and is one of the few regions within 2 kpc other than Orion to contain over 1000 members. X-ray and deep near-infrared observations reveal a dense cluster with over 200 X-ray sources and 400 infrared sources embedded in a diffuse hot plasma within a 1 pc diameter. The central O st...

Radio emission from the massive stars in the Galactic Super Star Cluster Westerlund 1

Aims. Current mass-loss rate estimates imply that main sequence line-driven winds are not sufficient to strip away the H-rich envelope to yield Wolf-Rayet (WR) stars. The rich transitional population of the young massive cluster Westerlund 1 (Wd 1) provides an ideal laboratory to observe and constrain mass-loss processes throughout the transitional phase of stellar evolution. Methods. We presen...

A “ super ” star cluster grown old : the most massive star cluster in the Local Group

We independently redetermine the reddening and age of the globular cluster 037-B327 in M31 by comparing independently obtained multicolour photometry with theoretical stellar population synthesis models. 037-B327 has long been known to have a very large reddening value, which we confirm to be E(B − V) = 1.360 ± 0.013, in good agreement with the previous results. We redetermine its most likely a...

The Birth of a Super Star Cluster : NGC 5253

We present images of the 7mm free-free emission from the radio “supernebula” in NGC 5253 made with the Very Large Array and the Pie Town link. The images reveal structure in the nebula, which has a≤ 1 pc (∼50 mas radius) core requiring the excitation of 1200 O7 stars. The nebula is elongated, with an arc of emission curving to the northeast and to the south. The total ionizing flux within the c...

Cluster Analysis of Super Resolution Fluorescence Images

Direct Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (dSTORM) is a novel, high resolution technique to produce fluorescence images. It uses conventional organic fluorophores which are fluorescent molecules that emit light when excited in either a spontaneous or induced way. Common examples of fluorophores are labeled antibodies, used as markers to indicate locations of certain proteins. The fluo...
